A Parents “Morning”

By the time you see them, they have had a whole day.

A machine is only as reliable as it’s parts. As a parent the word ‘reliable’ can be swiftly and uncontrollably removed from a situation by invisible forces. For a morning to go according to schedule, according to routine, according to just five normative tasks, the invisible forces must remain invisible; or at least agreeable. Each of the five tasks easily has the ability to spawn three more negotiation based situations. The spawning and volatility due to invisible forces has infinite potential. The energy expended for all of these processes is enough to call in the specialists to review if there is a way to improve efficiency by examining the invisible forces in depth. To wait on the specialists will surely destroy productivity and the machine will be rendered unreliable for the unforeseen future. This is the process presently referred to as “getting my children out of bed”.
